Natural Wonders & Views:

Historically, the Dorset Lookout Tower played a pivotal role in the safe keeping of the forests surrounding Lake of Bays. Replaced by satellite fire reconnaissance today, the fire tower provides visitors a spectacular view of the area from a vantage point 365' above Dorset.

Discover our logging past by visiting Hawk Lake Chute, the sole remaining log chute in Ontario. Chutes like this were used to transport timber to the mills over the craggy rock streams to the sawmill.

Come enjoy the spectacular views of villages nestled away in the narrows of lakes and bays and the forest and hills of Haliburton County

Both Haliburton and Minden villages have panoramic lookouts offering spectacular vistas of the ancient granite hills and magnificent forests of the Haliburton Highlands.
